Company description

When Frank and Louise Hagerty couldn’t find good coverage for their prized wooden boats, they decided to create their own, launching Hagerty Insurance from the family basement in 1984. Beginning with their revolutionary Agreed Value antique boat coverage, they quickly expanded to offer specialty auto policies too.

Today, Hagerty has evolved into an automotive lifestyle brand dedicated to the love of driving. Along with being the world’s largest provider of specialty insurance for enthusiast vehicles, we’re home to other automotive offerings, such as Hagerty Drivers Club®, Garage + Social, DriveShare™, MotorsportReg and more.

With offices in the U.S., UK and Canada, we’re always growing and looking for more enthusiasts to engage (and work) with. Keep in touch with Hagerty by subscribing to our newsletter, a weekly digest of the latest car stories with gorgeous photos and videos, unearthed history, collector market news, and profiles of the most interesting automotive icons.

BI Claims Adjusters beware
Status: Previously employed
Hagerty brags about being named to Fortune's 'Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance' industry. This sounded great during onboarding. However, the claims Department is completely separate, like the red-headed stepchild. The culture is estranged and Management is horrible. Training is done almost entirely on your own in about 3 days, Managers are too busy to offer any additional assistance, and colleagues make no attempt to respond to messages or show any interest in inclusion.

Classic corprate job
Status: Previously employed
It can be easy to move up if you have connections with the right people, or are willing to work overtime and/or do classes for their products on your own time. The scheduling is not in the least flexible, you will need to request anytime off at the beginning of the quarter. Managment really depends on the team you are on weather it is good or bad. The company as whole could be paying much much more to their call center employee's who carry the company on their backs. It really is just another corprate job. If you are interested in car culture it may be a great fit.... or not

Great culture
Status: Previously employed
Hagerty's culture is extremely inclusive and everyone is very welcoming. Hagerty also provides their employees with plenty of opportunities to promote from within.

Too much work
Status: Employed
Too many enterprise level initiatives and not enough people to do them. Senior management appears to have their head in the sand about the situation because the projects just keep coming.
Flexible, Wfh
Stress, changing priorities
