Solid company

This is a pay for performance company, so please know that beforehand. The work is not terribly hard. The Good- they make decisions quickly. The Bad- they make decisions quickly. The worst part is their technology. They are trying to improve but some things are antiquated. My manager is great and very supportive.

Don't walk - RUN

They moved me to a new department without so much as a conversation and my new manager had absolutely no clue what I did. If you enjoy being micromanaged - SS&C is the place for you. The yearly bonus is nice but is not a guarantee (though in 15 years, I was only not given a bonus once). Make sure you bank it because the yearly raises barely keep up with the cost of living. Oh and make sure your lips are moisturized because kissing butt and working ridiculous hours are the only ways to get promoted.

This place sucks. Do not work here to matter what stay away. The management is a joke! You'll never make more money you will always be underpaid and underappreciated.

Pto is the only good thing
Status: Employed
The only good thing I can say after almost 2 decades is that they have a good time off policy. Otherwise expect terrible pay and equally as terrible management.

It's a financial services company, so they are not super forward-thinking or innovative in their use of technology.
Status: Employed
It might vary team-to-team, but you will eventually interact with other teams. They don't release software for months at a time, there are months-long code freezes because the ancient mainframe software cannot risk any disruptions at end-of-quarter report generation. It's a pretty ridiculous way to go about business, but they are heavily invested in IBM and there's no chance it will change.

Go in with an exit strategy in mind. Leave as fast as reasonable for you. If you like the work, you can find better companies for much better pay and better culture. You’ll meet great coworkers. Company culture is what kills any goodness people have.
