This is a remote-based position in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, or Chicago, IL with periodic travel.

Think of the Early Career Program as the needed step to accelerate the bridge from academia to the professional world enabling you to monetize your skills. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed in a permanent position supporting our value customers and their business needs.

You will develop professionally to engage with customers developing technical solutions pivoting between credible technical discussion and distilling technical concepts into simple business language reinforcing the Calix value proposition, deliver compelling presentations, and build customer aligned solutions. In this role, you will interact with and influence our customers at the senior technical staff and business management level. You will provide demonstrations of Calix’s product capabilities and assist with lab and field trials.

The Early Career Program:

We are investing in your future for a fulfilling career at Calix.

Attend and master the Early Career Program through a rotation of classroom (virtual and in person) and various field assignments over approximately a 12–18 month period.

We will work with you to determine a preferred expertise path in either fiber network technology and Cloud software supporting operational deployments or wireless (Wi-Fi) technologies and Cloud software supporting the subscribers needs and experience.

Successfully complete the program.

We will then place you in a permanent position supporting our Sales initiatives and customers.

Upon ECP completion, here are the skills you will develop and practice:

Working as a team building trusted relationships with customers supporting Sales efforts.

Working with customers to design and architect platform solutions to meet their technical and business needs.

Maintaining a deep understanding of the product portfolio to apply the best solutions.

Provide leadership influencing decisions and adept at simplifying Calix technology concepts.

Delivering compelling presentations, handling objections, and assistance in closing the sale.

Operate in an ethical manner.

Research and stay up to date on the most recent industry standards and trends.


BSEE/BSCS, or equivalent technically oriented bachelor’s degree desired.

Travel expectations: Up to 60% domestic travel on an as needed basis.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable speaking in public forums.
