As the Business Transformation Delivery Lead, you participate in the development and manage the Group Platform Transformation strategy development for multiple workstreams. Will partner closely with our cross-functional Leadership Team across Group Benefits and the Enterprise as required. The platform will enable our organization to provide more efficient and improved customer service to both our Group Benefits B2B and B2C customers. It will provide our Consumers with a market leading customer experience and digitally enabled platform. You bring thought leadership and innovative ideas to key initiatives and lead execution of platform related solutions. You work with partners to craft and communicate the long-term platform transformation strategy and are responsible for the creation of platform feature development through the successful implementation of new functionality for the marketplace including the prioritization of the work given to the development teams, ensuring that we optimize business value and customer satisfaction.

You execute on the Platform Transformation Strategy in partnership with the Group Benefit Leaders by working across organizational lines to create a positive outcome for the program. As part of these responsibilities, you will interface regularly with key internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve current product issues, implement current platform portfolio, and help establish calendar of upcoming platform enhancements.

You will report to the Assistant Vice President, Business Transformation Leader for the Guardian Group Benefits Transformation Team.

You Will

  • Be an influential leader, drive milestones and results, resolve issues, and consistently mitigating risks ensuring accurate and timely launch of all agreed upon platform and program deliverables
  • Execute on long-term strategy for the Group Platform Transformation program by researching potential feature innovations; generating epic requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, and time-integrated plans for product introduction. Ensure that innovative feature ideas are efficiently sourced and prioritized. Work closely with product, service, distribution, and key internal and external stakeholders to build strong pipeline for future product enhancements.
  • Responsible for driving and managing results in a high-performing and fast- moving environment including budget and KPIs. Monitor resources and delivery results in Jira, Confluence, and other project tools. Manage resources and teams, ensuring they are performing at the necessary pace to meet program expectations providing continuous coaching, process improvement and escalation to leadership as needed.
  • Drive platform and operating model development to deliver an innovative product portfolio to our customers including ideation analysis on high potential market opportunities related to the operating model and platform. Partner with key stakeholders to build business cases and prioritize with key stakeholders to start design work
  • Lead large cross-functional teams through multi-year transformations involving complex solution creation and execution across Group Benefits and Enterprise stakeholders.
  • Work independently and collaboratively across the organization, to drive strategic decisions for the business inclusive of detailed analysis work required to understand, inform, and recommend solutions.
  • Define releases and program increments working with the multiple Agile Release Train, ART Leaders for new epics, features, architecture, and other type of enabler work, own product backlog and prioritization; identify and resolve project issues.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity in strategic direction. Priorities will change as current uncertainties become new standards and shape the market. There must be constant balance between proactive and reactive strategy and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with all areas of the Group Benefits organization. Work with leadership to build consensus through persuasive presentation of well-developed, rational business cases, complete with supporting information, impact analysis, and success metrics. A key challenge and opportunity will be your ability to influence and manage people over whom there is no direct authority.

Qualifications

You Have

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience, minimum of 5 years managing and successfully delivering complex and/or multi-year transformative programs across Business and IT.
  • Experience working in a SAFe agile software development environment.
  • Strong process and product management skills
  • Deep understanding of technical capabilities with the ability to translate business needs into epic/feature capabilities focused on customer experience, agile product development, and requirement analysis
  • Ability to construct/prioritize a program backlog with significant collaboration from IT, Business, Architecture, Vendor Partners and Agile leadership.
  • Experience with Agile toolset (JIRA, JIRA-ALIGN, Confluence).
  • Strategic and creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate strategies into actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrixed environment with a positive attitude
  • Strong influencing and communication skills with ability to socialize the strategy and roadmap at various levels of the organization, ability to “tell the story”.

Location

  • This position will be work from home until our offices reopen July 2021, then can be located in any of our Guardian Office locations in the continental US with flexibility for remote/work at home, potential of 25% travel within U.S depending on work location
