Job Summary:

The Director, Business Development - State is responsible for establishing key strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders associated with market and product expansion opportunities within a specific state.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for establishing key strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders associated with market and product expansion opportunities within a specific state
  • Seek out, build and maintain key relationships within a specific state to assist in the identification of business opportunities for CareSource
  • Maintain a deep knowledge and understanding of industry changes that will support or impact CareSource’s decision to pursue identified business opportunities
  • Monitor relevant state activities and proactively identify growth opportunities and risks that may affect CareSource
  • Provide consultative expertise to inform the organization’s strategic direction as it relates to business development
  • Assist in the evaluation of business opportunities, inclusive of the development of return on investment (ROI) analyses, in collaboration with the finance team
  • Assist in the development of early entry strategy for state-specific opportunities, inclusive of network identification and community partnership development, to further the corporate growth strategy
  • Provide consultative oversight to the planning and management of the integration process for business implementation activities
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop materials that integrate the corporate mission and branding strategies and promote CareSource’s expertise in government programs
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of best practices and incorporate recommendations into research, design and proposal activity
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop the corporate strategy as it relates to pursuit of new business
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, healthcare, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred in business administration, finance or economics
  • Seven (7) years of experience in comparable role or progressive assumption of responsibilities in the insurance, managed care or related industry is preferred

  • Ability to excel in fluid, dynamic environment
