Lead Software Developer

The Lead Software Developer will work on a team that is building the backend features of an internal service portal used by Guardian customer onboarding and claims teams.

You will

  • Participate in software development lifecycle by analyzing and implementing functional & non-functional business requirements
  • Perform or follow requirement decomposition, individual task effort estimation, solution design, and coding/debugging related to the corresponding part of the software development lifecycle
  • Follow project and task schedule and project quality assurance practices related to area of work
  • Independently solve problems and research new solutions, involving architects when needed
  • Work effectively in a team and collaborate with other teams on the daily basis, applies and improves software development practices and methodologies

The lead developer may also be required to fulfill the role and responsibilities of the development manager. In this case, the following responsibilities apply

  • Establish, implement, and monitor software development processes and best practices
  • Work continuously on increasing team members’ productivity
  • Investigate new technologies and development techniques and suggest improvements on a daily basis
  • Work as a driver for changes on the team and project levels
  • Lead team, project, and company level activities to increase effectiveness by sharing knowledge, coaching, providing training courses, preparing documentation, and quick start materials in his/her areas of expertise
  • Establish overall development culture in the team and participate in establishing it on the project level

You have

  • Java
  • RxJava, reactive programming, or multithreading programming
  • Kafka or any other event streaming technology
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Microservices architecture
  • Spring framework, including IoC, transactions, and web services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hibernate (JPA version)
  • Liquibase scripts
  • REST
  • Maven
  • Docker
  • Mercurial or GIT
  • cloud and distributed architectures : AWS
  • Cassandra or any other NoSQL databases

Salary Range

$91,380.00 - $169,690.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
