Location Details...

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

We’re looking for a software platform Technical Writer to provide company-wide assistance to our employees. You will be a member of our Technology Organization and work directly with our Data Platform team to produce high-quality technical documentation, training materials, and standards approved by the Data Governance Council. You will have the opportunity to work with technical engineering partners to write tutorials, how-to guides, explanations, and reference materials. We are looking for a teammate who has more than writing skills — we’re looking for a teammate who acts out of compassion, considers feedback a gift, and always focuses on doing what’s best for our employees.

What you'll get to do...

  • Prepare, review, and produce technical documentation, including but not limited to, software and systems architecture, systems capabilities, database structures, communication and connectivity, security, APIs, training tutorials, standards and best practices, presentation, PPTs and engineering blogs.
  • Interview subject matter experts and analyze complex information to understand the details of the platforms and technical information to be conveyed.
  • Learn complex concepts and communicate information with ease and clarity for internal employees and the external technical community.
  • Use visual models and tools to clearly communicate workflows, communications, relations, and system operations.
  • Assist anyone that needs help understanding how the different platforms work, are built, and interact with each other.
  • Present technical information when needed, by providing training or walkthrough of technical aspects of the systems.

Your experience should include...

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in an English discipline or a technical field like Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in Software Development; working with engineers in an agile environment
  • 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing of software documentation
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Superb attention to detail skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to implement feedback, give constructive feedback, and positively contribute in a collaborative environment
  • Experience presenting technical information

GoDaddy's compensation is local to where you are and may vary based on an individual's qualifications at the time of the offer. The anticipated annual base salary ranges for select locations are listed below:

  • Seattle, New York City - $65000.00 to $81500.00
  • Colorado, Washington State - $56000.00 to $70000.00
