About the Job:

The Technical Writer will create technical content primarily for developers who are working with our developer portal platform. As a member of this team, you’ll work with product managers, engineers, technical writers, and many others throughout the organization to understand the product and create clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality, clear, and concise documentation, including YAML specifications for our Developer Portal from technical specifications and discussions with developers and product managers
  • Able to maintain or improve the consistency in language and readability level of all documentation
  • Deploy and maintain documentation standards, processes, and best practices
  • Create and maintain API and integration documentation in repositories

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years technical writing experience with 1+ years of experience writing API documentation for public consumption
  • Proven ability to write high-quality technical documentation and familiarity with best practices in technical writing
  • Able to read and write specs in OpenAPI/Swagger and knowledge of Restful design
  • Able to interpret markup languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and YAML to create meaningful materials
  • Able to create procedural, conceptual, and troubleshooting documentation
  • Strong research, requirements gathering, planning, writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
  • Commitment to improving the customer experience; devoted to customer success

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment
  • Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Content Management Systems such as Drupal
  • Familiarity with common tools like Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, and Miro
